UK-based design firm DIY Kyoto has come up with a clever plan to allow homeowners to visibly see how much energy they are using in their home at any given moment. Wattson, a portable and wireless device, hooks up to the main fuse box of any home and bright display on the Wattson shows the amount of energy a home is using in either in watts or cost.
Holmes is a software program that allows the user to see how much electricity a home uses in the past 28 days. The program also allows the user to put the information online in a community, where ideas about saving electricity are shared.
